National Parks to offer green-friendly transit
Despite the pandemic (or maybe because of it), National park visitation in 2021 was at an all time high. Unfortunately, that resulted in traffic, congestion, and a less than ideal experience. But there is some hope on the horizon – with funding from the infrastructure bill and other federal monies, the government will test some of the newest and most innovative travel technologies on public lands. This includes self-driving shuttle buses, electric scooter or bike stations and electric charging stations – all aimed to improve visitors’ tourism experience. Funds have also been earmarked for long-deferred renovation projects, protecting wildlife and combating climate change. I for one, am excited about the initiatives, and hope to see some changes on my next visit. See you at the parks!
